As a sailing club, we ask ALL FAMILIES to patrol at least once, sailors and non-sailors.
This makes it possible to keep the sailors on the race course asmuch as possible. For those who do not have motor boats, you mayneed to borrow or rent one to serve your patrol duty, or considerpartnering with another member who has a boat. If you have dateswhen you cannot patrol, or a request to serve a particular fleet, please let us know. Contact Donna Wotton. Please send anyscheduling requests by the end of March.
When and How to Report for Patrolling
Please report to the NLGYC dock at 9:30 am to pick up a radio, and proceed to the Committee Boat on the race course to check in by 9:40 am. Be sure you have a tow rope, life jackets, and an extra person on board to assist. If you can’t make it on your assigned day, please call around for a replacement, and notify the Race Committee Chair, Tom Vickerson.
If you are new to race patrol or serving as harbor master, and are a bit unsure of the responsibilities involved, we provide PATROL GUIDELINES and HARBOR MASTER documents to help you. See button below.
